Comments from Scott:

Let’s discuss purchasing versus leasing a rack and the space required in order to safely load and unload boat from rack.

Perhaps there hasn’t been a better time to consider purchasing an RVC boat rack at the Carrabelle Boat Club. With values stabilized and the supply of foreclosed product cleared out, the time to purchase is now. The Club is stable and on sound financial footing, there isn’t a glut of quality boat storage anywhere close by and resale prices have never been more attractive.

Nor will they stay this way.

Think about this:

A medium sized rack which will fit a 24 foot modern center console boat with T-Top costs $22,500 Dues are $90 per month.

20% down, financed over 10 years at 6.5% is $134.00 per month.

Total monthly cost of less than $250 per month.

Rental rates for the same rack are $400 -$450 per month.

(For a more detailed comparative analysis, see the “Purchase versus Rental” model).

Here’s the best part. If you don’t store your boat in the rack or purchase as an investment, the Club will manage the rental for you and you receive 100% of the rental income!

But, don’t wait too long. These aggressive prices won’t last.

Unlike other parts of Florida, quality boat storage in our area is limited.

Correct rack sizing:

Before purchasing a rack for your boat, always call for specifics regarding fit for your particular boat. There are required clearances which are necessary to permit the unloading/loading of the boat safely with the forklift which sometimes don’t get factored in.  At Carrabelle, the “Fit Tolerance” required is 16” vertical and 12” horizontal.

Simply measure the height and beam measurements for your boat and then call myself or Frank Sheridan, Dockmaster. We’ll make sure you get sized correctly.

But, keep in mind. It’s always better to buy a rack slightly larger than you currently need…once you begin enjoying the Club and its services as well as the local area…you may find yourself considering that newer, slightly larger version of your boat with the bigger engines, newer electronics…

Call me anytime.

I’ll be glad to answer your questions.
